Loya jirga conference
The United Nations is reviewing the names of Taliban leaders included in an international terrorist blacklist following recent peace talks in Afghanistan, says a UN envoy.
Staffan de Mistura, UN secretary general's special envoy to Afghanistan, said on Sunday that the UN was responding to the call of Afghanistan's national conference, or peace jirga held this month in Kabul, to strike the names of some Taliban leaders from the list, AP reported. At present, the list contains the names of 137 Taliban figures.
